Teletest® guided wave inspection of jetty lines

This programme involved the inspection of eight lines of 4, 6, 8 and 12 inch diameter, where they passed through a 0.8-1.0m thick sea wall.
Inspection was possible from both sides of the wall. Thus the required transmission range was small in comparison to other projects. A feature of this project, however, is that the pipes had bitumastic wrapping.
Despite the fact that such wrappings can attenuate ultrasound significantly, the technique performed successfully.
